Legends of Runeterra: I Hate It!

3 min read

I, unfortunately, delved into the world of Legends of Runeterra, and oh boy, what a ride it has been! While many have fallen head over heels for this digital collectible card game, I find myself on the opposite end of the spectrum, armed with a virtual pitchfork and a disgruntled expression. So, let’s dive into the reasons why Legends of Runeterra and I are not exactly best buddies.

Pacing

First and foremost, let’s talk about the game’s pacing. It’s like waiting for a snail to finish a marathon. I’ve had more time to contemplate the meaning of life while watching my opponent ponder over their next move. I mean, come on, Legends of Runeterra, it’s a card game, not a chess match. Ain’t nobody got time for that much thinking – we’re here to sling cards, not solve world peace.

Deck-Building System

And let’s not even get started on the intricacies of the deck-building system. It’s like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded. There are so many cards, champions, regions – it’s a labyrinth of options. I spend more time agonizing over whether to include Teemo or Thresh in my deck than actually playing the game. Can’t we just have a “Press for an Instant Awesome Deck” button? No? Well, that’s a missed opportunity.

RNG…

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room – the RNG (Random Number Generator). Legends of Runeterra seems to have taken a liking to chaotic randomness. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had the perfect strategy, only for Lady Luck to laugh in my face and hand my opponent an unbeatable hand. It’s like playing poker with a deck of Uno cards – unpredictable and utterly infuriating.

Champions…

And don’t even get me started on the champions. They’re like those overachieving kids in school who ruin the curve for everyone else. Miss Fortune and Yasuo, I’m looking at you. It’s as if they have a personal vendetta against me, showing up at the most inconvenient times with their flashy abilities and turning the tide of battle. Can’t we all just get along and play a fair game, Legends of Runeterra?

Now, I may sound like a grumpy old card game enthusiast reminiscing about the good ol’ days, but the truth is, there are other digital card games out there that have stolen my heart. Legends of Runeterra, you may want to take some notes from your counterparts and add a dash of simplicity, a sprinkle of faster pacing, and a pinch of fairness.

All in all,

I find myself yearning for a more harmonious relationship with this digital card game. Perhaps one day, the game developers will hear the cries of players like me and sprinkle a bit of magic to make Legends of Runeterra a more enjoyable experience. Until then, I’ll keep my virtual pitchfork handy and continue my quest for the perfect digital card game match made in heaven.
